Me personally, I'm still going to be dubious of DE because they did the "dark yellow is totally normal" response thing in the first place, but a reformulation that may or may not have been to hide oxidation is a solid move. I'd use (and do use) the Timeless serum.Įdit: Looks like DE reformulated the Vit C, which is great. TL DR: Both would be effective, but you can't really tell when the DE serum has gone bad, or if it arrives oxidized, as has happened to some customers. Some have had their product replaced with a yellow-ish product, which the company says is "normal." Again, that extract may be there for other reasons, but there's no way to tell when your L-AA serum has turned the corner (and should be discarded after a certain point, oxidized L-AA may do more harm than good to your skin) when it's intentionally made to be yellow. People on this sub have gotten brand-new DE Vit C that's orange. That said, Drunk Elephant uses pumpkin extract that gives the product an overall yellow color - which, to the cynical among us, may have been added to mask the yellow color the serum would inevitably take on as the L-AA oxidizes and becomes less and less efficacious. Timeless has 20% L-AA vs DE's 15%, but 5% for most people isn't going to make a huge difference.
